The ASEAN Infrastructure Fund (AIF) a regional platform supporting sustainable infrastructure and development across Southeast Asia held its 28th Board of Directors Meeting in Kuala Lumpur.
The meeting was chaired by YBhg. Dato’ Zamzuri Abdul Aziz, Deputy Secretary General of Treasury (Policy) and Chair of AIF with Ms. Ramona Mohd Razali, Undersecretary of International Division attending as alternate AIF Director.
During the session, the Board reviewed the operational performance of AIF, which has financed 19 projects across six Southeast Asian countries, committing USD 550 million toward a total expected project cost of USD 11.0 billion for 2015–2025. Looking ahead, the indicative pipeline for 2026–2030 amounts to USD 19.4 billion across 29 projects.

The AIF Board also engaged with ACGF Partners in a joint session attended by Agence Française de Développement (AFD), Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), Cassa Depositi e Prestit (CDP), European Union (EU), Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), Green Climate Fund (GCF) and Export-Import Bank of Korea (KEXIM). Key discussions included:
(i) ASEAN Taxonomy for Sustainable Finance;
(ii) Infrastructure climate risk and insurance solutions (ASEAN+3 initiative reflections); and
(iii) ASEAN Climate Finance Policy Platform featuring a case study from Malaysia titled “MOF’s Initiatives Financing for Sustainability” presented by YBrs. Dr. Nirwan Noh, Deputy Undersecretary, Economics Research Sector, Fiscal and Economics Division (FED).
This meeting underscores AIF’s commitment to mobilising sustainable infrastructure investment, enhancing regional collaboration and supporting climate-resilient development across ASEAN.
