KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 13 (Bernama) -- The government will allocate RM400 million for the maintenance and repair of all Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) personnel houses, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
He said RM20 million would also be spent to upgrade the Army camps’ sewage systems in stages
“In addition, the government will continue to intensify the PROTEGE-RTW initiative, which is internship placement in collaboration with companies receiving government contracts and expanding the scope to include MAF veterans under the contract signed by the Defence Ministry.
“Every government programme will have a specific quota for veterans, such as the entrepreneurship training and employment programmes as well as financing facilities, to protect the welfare and socio-economic development of the veterans,” he said.
Anwar said this when tabling the Malaysia MADANI Budget 2024 in Parliament today.
